A year since the drop of our first batch, our new cut of Japanese denim is a leap forward, with some big new developments.
Above all, we added some stretch.
The purists might object - but a great pair of jeans should be an easy wear - not a test of endurance. And this year, of all years, we realised: everything should stretch.
With that stretch, we were able cut in the same shape as our 10oz and 12oz denim - for a consistent experience and silhouette across the range. These jeans will look slimmer than our first Japanese batch - but if anything they feel like they have more room to move.
The new denim still weighs in at a satisfyingly chunky 14oz - and it's rope dyed by Sakamoto for a textured finish.
The rinse version combines a deep indigo with flecks of white, undyed cotton. It's a real beauty.
Our Japanese denim is made with 98% Cotton and 2% Elastane.
New denim can experience some colour transfer with contact. So take a little extra care in the early days — especially with light coloured garments and upholstery. Be sure to wash at 30°C or lower with similar colours, low iron and no tumble dry if you can avoid it. No bleach. Wash inside out.
