We sourced the fine Italian wool from Guabello — a mill in Piedmont with a storied 200 year history. The quality we’ve chosen is woven with mechanical stretch, for extra motility. There’s no elastane or Lycra here — just a clever weave that creates as much as 3% of give. It’s incredibly comfortable to wear — and resists wrinkles all day.
We've cut and trimmed with a host of tailoring details. There’s an invisible ticket pocket at the hip, a French Bearer at the fly, and a traditional notch at the back of the waistband.
We’ve half-lined at the front of the trouser for comfort and endurance — and finished (as ever) with a Swiss semi-autolock zip, by RiRi.
Honestly, these trousers are so smart, next time you need to make a speech they’ll probably write it for you. With a fountain pen.

After a few wears you’ll need leave these Smarts in the tender loving care of your local dry cleaners. They should never see the inside of a domestic wash. A trouser press will keep them fresh between cleans - but please use a warm setting at most. Nothing too hot. And if you iron at home, avoid excessive heat and steam wherever possible.
